Event Photography

There are moments in our lives that we will cherish forever, and these are even more precious when we are with friends, family or colleagues. Photographs help us remember and relive those moments, but do we always get the full picture?

Here's a question - What do you do when someone points a camera at you? Do you stiffen up with a cheesy grin or put a hand up to your face and shy away?

Both of these reactions are quite natural - few people like their photograph being taken.
But we are all photogenic when captured the way we are.

I specialise in capturing that moment.

It's a style called Reportage, where people are photographed un-posed,
most likely unaware that a picture is even being taken. The result is a
natural and almost always intimate collection of images that truly capture
the person or people in that moment.

For example, as a compliment to a wedding photographer I will capture
not the bride and groom, but what everyone else was doing on the big day.
Meeting old or new friends and relations, admiring the bride, catching up with family...
A collection of photographs capturing their loved ones on their most special of days as a gift for the bride and groom perhaps..?

But it’s not just for weddings. Any event or gathering can be photographed in this style - a birthday, family get together or outing, or a corporate event or training day. Then presented in an album, as prints or as a DVD video montage.

Recent projects included following Alloa Musical Players through their rehearsals and the show itself, creating a DVD charting their journey from start to finish. You'll see some of that work in the gallery.

My style reflects the people it captures: unique, individual, distinctive, emotional....but don't take my word for it...! Browse the Gallery below and see for yourself. Then drop me an
e-mail and I'll detail package prices and discuss how to tailor them to your specific needs. You'll be surprised how affordable it is.

Because these moments might only happen once, make sure you capture the spirit of the event and the people who made it special.
